One of two tank wagons that arrived on 4th December 2002 from Fords' of Dagenham. They have been donated as a result of the photo-charter involving Peckett No. 2087 during 2001. The wagon is thought to be about 50 years old and thought to have been used for storing oil / diesel at the factory compound at Dagenham. This wagon has "Scotland" rolled in the steel frames, and flaking paint suggests an original cherry red livery. The axleboxes are of the 9 x 41/4 G.W.R. split type and marked W.R. Ltd on at least one buffer. It has restraining cables and wood block supports, spoke wheels, horse shunting attachment brackets, riveted tanks with a central turret. It is similar in appearance to the Esso tank in the down yard. No makers names nor numbers have been found on the vehicle so far. |
