This carriage was built at Derby in 1968 and for 20 years was based at York and spent most of its life on the York to Bournemouth service.

Purchased from British Rail, the body of E5324 arrived at Quainton in 1988.  It spent eleven years as the main Buckinghamshire Railway Centre (Quainton Railway Society Ltd.) office.  It is now the fund raising shop vehicle for locomotive 6989 Wightwick Hall.
