Originally allocated to the eastern region, this coach is a side corridor second with eight compartments, four on each side of a cross corridor.  Two toilets are situated at one end of the coach.  The vehicle has a seating capacity of forty-eight persons with the seat arm-rests down.  It is identical to E24993, and is on B1 type bogies.

Initially it was sold into preservation to the Dart Valley Railway in 1983, who restored it to BR operating standards.  It was sold to the QRS in November 1989.
