Quainton Guide 1979

Schools Steamings

For a number of years now we have invited school parties to visit our site at the end of the Summer term (Usually June) as an educational expedition, and these have become increasingly popular.

These visits, which MUST be booked in advance, take place when the site is closed to the general public, and consist of a conducted tour round the site, including locomotive sheds and museum, a look over one of the footplates, and a ride in one of the trains. Interested teachers should write in the first instance for further details (enclosing SAE please) to the Public Relations Officer (Ref. QG) at Quainton Road Station.

The text in this Quainton Railway Society publication was written in 1979 and so does not reflect events in the 38+ years since publication. The text and photographs are repeated verbatim from the original publication, with only a few minor grammar changes but some clarifying notes are added if deemed necessary. The photos from the original publication are provided as scans in this internet version of this long out of print publication.
