Guild of Railway Artists Exhibition

October 2009 marks the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Guild of Railway Artists in 1979, under the name "Railart". Since then, exhibitions have been held at various venues with historically established railway links.

Their thirtieth anniversary exhibition was formally opened by Sir William McAlpine, their president, on Saturday 23rd May 09 at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre and ran until Sunday 21st June.

All 43 exhibits were by noted railway artists and captured the enduring fascination of the railway and the atmosphere of the steam age in particular.

The Exhibition was a great success, with 30% of the pictures on display sold against an expectation of 20%. Commission on sales provided welcome revenue for the Centre.
