The old order is changing. This is the last year our Society will be led by Peter Clarke as Chairman and with Roy Miller as our Secretary. At the Annual General Meeting both these stalwarts declared their intention of not standing for re-election in 1979. But this year we say farewell to two other members who have served our Society and the LRPS for so many years. Austin Harland and Ray Hedley deserve our grateful thanks for all the time and thought they have contributed at Executive Committee meetings towards our remarkable growth at Quainton. On the back page you will see the new line-up of Committee members and officers for 1978/9 and we are delighted to have Andrew Bratton re-elected to the Committee and ratified as Hon. Treasurer for the ensuing year. We are also pleased to note that Austin is continuing as our Public Relations Officer and he will be arranging talks and speakers for meetings later in 1978.

Welcome to two newly elected Committee members; Neville Royce who has done so well with his permanent way team and Roddy Rodwell who has worked wonders in the past solving car parking problems on Open Days, and greetings to co-opted members, Tony Lyster representing Carriage and Wagon, and John Carter representing the Open Days Committee.

Now the executive has plenty of problems to solve! How should our income be allocated? What are the priorities for the Job Creation Project? Which locomotive should have urgent attention? How soon can we consider a new Sales and Catering building? And so on!

One thing is certain. They need your full support and co-operation, whatever their decisions. So please continue the good work everybody!
