6024 PS Report

Good progress is being made on the restoration of GWR King 4-6-0 King Edward I - and the chassis and tender look most impressive in the new shed. The inside left connecting rod has been fitted and the planning and fitting, where possible, of pipework and lubrication equipment is well under way. At the time of writing, the departure of the boiler to Norman Payne's Lewes premises is imminent and upon return it will be reunited with the frames. The 6024 PS hope to test steam the loco in 1987 and a full recommissioning ceremony is being planned for June 1988.
