Acknowledgments

Producing a website of this nature can never be the work of one person alone. Therefore, acknowledgment is given to the various people and organizations that have contributed to the production of this site.

The previous stockbooks acknowledged those contributing to those publications, which are not all listed here, but acknowledgment is once again given. The Industrial Railway Society must once again be thanked for their help in 'A Century on Rails'; much of that text is repeated on this website.

The several individuals have helped out with supply and checking the information included in the website:

  • Janice Uphill - overall proof reading and supplying additional and up to date data.
  • Bruce Murray - 9466 matters.
  • Robert Frise and Steve Ord - many photographs
  • Tony Lyster - all things carriage and wagon
  • Phil Marsh - for volunteering the current author to produce this website
  • Various email correspondents for their help and fact correction over the last few years
  • Ray Jackson - for his research on the various tank wagons at Quainton - more of which below

Ray Jackson's sources for the research on Quainton's tank wagons has mainly been 'Oil on the Rails' by Allan Coppin; 'British Private-owner Tank Wagons' No. 14 in the 'Railways in Profile' series by Cheona Publications; and 'Petroleum Rail Tank Wagons of Britain' by R. Tourret. Additional thanks are due to Mr. Tourret; Mr. A. Warner of Bombardier Transportation who declared no objection to the use of the photo of one of the ex Ford tankers, Mr. T. Johnson of H.M.R.S for likewise allowing use and for supplying the reference number of the photo of the old Esso tanker at Huntingdon and the Wagon group for its, unsuccessful, attempts to find the current whereabouts of the Waggon Repair Co's archives.

Once again apologies to those missed out.
