Network South East, Thames & Chiltern division, arranged for Class 50 loco, 50034 (D434) to visit Quainton on the 27th August 1990, Bank Holiday Monday. The locomotive was on display, running, in Platform 1 for the Open Day.

50034 was scrapped in the following February at Old Oak Common. Further details, including some very sad photos of 50034 being scrapped, can be found at the WNXX website.
