Gallery of Locomotives that have remained resident at Quainton

Here is a selection of the stalwart locos that have, apart from visits to other lines, been long-term residents at Quainton Road. We tried to feature the earliest photo examples we could find. We were unable to find a decent picture of bagnall 2469, which sits in the down yard awaiting restoration.

Photo:
Bob Randall - Coventry No. 1 in original NCB livery. Operates as our Thomas, but was taken out of service due to boiler problems. At the time of writing, the boiler has steamed on the ground for the boiler inspector and the great news is that everything went well and she passed the test. The opportunity given for other work was grabbed and work has also been done on the big ends, springs and to the cab roof. The loco is expected back in operation for the Easter 09 Thomas event. Postcard provided by Bob Randall.

Bob Randall - Hawthorne Leslie No. 3 (3717) on passenger duty in 1974. This loco is a static exhibit in the Buffer Depot Museum awaiting restoration.
