Editorial - Jeff Jackson

The first 40th anniversary edition of QN (edition 101) celebrated in pictures the fantastic changes and achievements made over the last 40 years. In this second celebratory edition, we focus on the 40th anniversary celebrations themselves. As a special treat we have included more colour pictures in this edition. Congratulations to all involved in putting together such an apt programme of activities and we should all applaud the stamina of the paid staff and volunteers in delivering them so well over the three days. A comment by one of our founding members who had not visited Quainton Road for a long time says it all. "What a fantastic place, it has improved beyond all recognition". Do please take note of the appeals by Allan, Peter, John and Anthea that appear in this edition so that we can sustain the excellent offerings of the Centre and assure its future.

Thanks to the regular contributors who have provided material for this edition. However, I always struggle for content. It is your magazine so don't be shy about sending me appropriate material. If you are not confident with putting pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard, just scribble down the salient facts for me and l can usually put something readable together for you to proof read.

The text in this Quainton Railway Society publication was written in 2009 and so does not reflect events in the 5+ years since publication. The text and photographs are repeated verbatim from the original publication, with only a few minor grammar changes but some clarifying notes are added if deemed necessary. The photos from the original publication are provided as scans in this internet version of this long out of print publication.
