Buckingham Great Central Model - Graham Coult
|
The future of Buckingham Great Central, a pioneering and world-famous model begun in 1946 by the late Revd. Peter Denny (featuring a fictional branch line from Grandborough Junction on the Quainton to Verney Junction line, to Buckingham Central station) has been decided. The news comes from Peter Denny's eldest son Stephen. Tony Gee, a well-known modeler, is going to accommodate Buckingham in its entirety, at his home near Doncaster. He is currently constructing a purpose built unit for Buckingham. In future issues we will look at the model locomotives (all hand built by Peter) from the Buckingham Central model and compare them with the real engines which used to run through Quainton in 1907, the year in which the model is set. |
