Quainton News No. 11 - March 1972
Wanted - Carriages
The executive committee have decided that some additional carriages are needed for our future operations and in December's 'Quainton News' you were invited to contact John Parsons with your offers of regular contributions for a fund which has been set up for the purpose. John's previous scheme for the acquisition of a BR Mark 1 coach by £10 donations is now going to be wound up and any member who has invested in the old fund may wish to withdraw his money. If so, he should write to our Treasurer. If not, (and this is our fervent wish!) he will have his contribution transferred to the new scheme. Our best thanks go to those who have helped in the past and our king-sized PLEASE help now to everyone to donate just a few new p's a week towards the new fund. Enquiries area Enquiries are also being made to see if we can buy a GNR six wheeler, six compartment third built in 1881 to go with our GNR Brake and another GCR bogie built in 1906 to go with the one in store in Aylesbury. |
