The Xmas Photographic Competition
This month it is our pleasure to announce a photographic competition which is open to all members. There will be two sections, one for black and white prints with about postcard size as the smallest print, and the other for colour slides. The only stipulation is that pictures must be taken by the entrant. Processing and printing can be done professionally or by the entrant. The subject matter must be directly related to Quainton although it is not necessary for every picture to have been taken at Quainton Road. The interesting photograph will be of special value in the assessment of the prizewinners. Mr L Elsey of Eastleigh, who is very well known for his railway photography has consented to judge the competition. Entries should be sent to the Editor but pictures should not carry the name of the entrant. The closing date is 31st December and prizewinners will be announced at Quainton on the notice board and in March's 'Quainton News'. Prizes in each section are: first prize £2, second prize £1, to be awarded as vouchers to spend at the shop. The entries will be considered for inclusion in a photographic souvenir to be published by the Society as a part of our celebrations to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the opening of the Stockton and Darlington Railway to passenger traffic in 1825. |
