Tombola Stall, '74
As you all know the White Elephant Stall has proved very popular over the years and it raised the money for the remetalling of Coventry's eccentrics. At Easter there is to be a change and a Tombola Stall is to be tried instead. These stalls are always popular but its success will depend on support from all the members. Everything for it has to be new, this isn't a jumble stall. Anything will do - after-shave lotion for example, many men will have received more than they needed at Christmas! Small tins of food, packets of biscuits, bottles of sauce, honey, homemade jam, pickles, chutney; a pair of tights, the nail varnish that turned out to be the wrong colour for you. Bring the things to Quainton now and let's have a bumper stall, we shall need every penny we can earn this year. There will again be a second-hand book stall, this is also very popular. Don't throw away any books when you do your spring cleaning, bring them to Quainton. |
