In the Summer 1974 issue of Quainton News, Part 2 of a serial article on 'The Building of a 5 in Gauge Great Central 4-4-0 Director Class locomotive' appeared, written by Mr. F M Marshall. The Editor regrets to inform members that this gentleman has left the Society and no further instalments will appear. There was considerable interest in these articles and we are sorry to report their premature end. Perhaps our new Aylesbury friends can take over the reins?
