Douglas Todd started a monthly newsletter for VAMES members last October and this will keep us up to date with their activities. Their next important event is Railex I on 8th April, a joint exhibition with the Risborough & District Model Railway Society, at the Civic Centre, Aylesbury.

At least ten model layouts will be on display, there will be trade stands, and a number of preservation societies will be showing their wares, including the Wightwick Hall group, the 6024 Society, the Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Society and of course, ourselves.

At the tracksite in the up yard, the site has been pegged out and the civil engineering work required for the system has been defined. Indeed, a start has already been made on building one of the block walls for the bridge between pegs 1 and 2. It has been decided to use the straight siding again this year for operating days in order not to interfere with the engineering work. VAMES make just one request to QRS members; please keep the access clear of parked cars. Many thanks.
