Five members have launched an appeal to raise funds to purchase from Barry this massive locomotive for Quainton. Although it has stood for many years in the scrapyard in South Wales it is in fair condition and most of the parts are available including the valve gear, outside motion, vacuum pump, etc. The cost of 7200 is £6,500 and any member wishing to support the scheme should contact any of the following: - F Boait or R Waywell, (Loco Sub Committee), C J Tayler, (Executive Committee), B W Wheeler, (6989 Working Party Leader), or R L Thomas, (6989 Committee Chairman).
