Are You Mechanically Minded?

Why not Join the Locomotive Department?

You don't have to be a fully trained engineer to be assured of a warm welcome in the Loco. Not only do we need skilled fitters but willing volunteers who do not mind working as craftsman's mates or wielding a scraper and paint brush on the many fine locomotives under restoration or repair at Quainton.

And that's not all!

The Locomotive lads are always to the fore whenever any important job needs doing well; like rebuilding a footbridge or dismantling a wheel-drop or a turntable. And who provides the enginemen? The Loco, of course!

The text in this Quainton Railway Society publication was written in 1980 and so does not reflect events in the 34+ years since publication. The text and photographs are repeated verbatim from the original publication, with only a few minor grammar changes but some clarifying notes are added if deemed necessary. The photos from the original publication are provided as scans in this internet version of this long out of print publication.
