LMS 10-ton Hand Crane No. ADM 27
A Runner for the Hand Crane
![]() Photo: |
A wagon frame was purchased from Woodham's famous scrapyard, Barry, and arrived on 19th August. It was formerly a coal hopper wagon, built at Shildon in 1977, and has Timken roller bearings and is on a standard 12ft wheelbase. The need for the flat arose from the likelihood of having to load the frames of Dennis's Pannier, 9466, onto a wagon to remove it from Mirat station, where it was immobilised while its bearings were away for attention. In the nick of time they came back and were fitted under 9466 at the late Summer Holiday weekend, so the locomotive was moved on its own wheels - and we have a useful runner for the hand crane! |
