Bricks & Mortar - Depot News
Work on the station building continues. The floor in the ladies loo has now been laid and grouted - the next job will be to install the pans and wash basins. In the booking hall the large door and window frame on the platform side has had to be scrapped because of yet more rot, so this will be replaced by a new unit that should be installed by Christmas. On the platform canopy two more main beams have been replaced - this now only leaves two to do. Quotes are currently being sought for tarmacing the paths in front of the station building and down to the car park. It is good to be able to report that the site suffered no damage at all during those horrendous storms of mid-October. The dumper truck is having the braking system completely overhauled. |
