Trevor Page (both) - Quainton News has not taken to following the world of rock music, but those who have witnessed the performance of Roger Wornham's
Hunslet 0-6-0DH No. 7016 will appreciate the significance of the above heading - as do the Civil Engineering Department. Resplendent in its new bright
green livery, the locomotive entered service on Enthusiasts Day and was immediately popular. The accompanying photographs show the Rolls Royce
engined machine in service on that occasion and it is planned that No. 7016 will be in regular operation in 1988. As an experiment, Good Friday and
Easter Saturday have been designated Diesel Days. Mike Goodwin's newly repainted Drewry shunter No. D2298 will operate a passenger service
in the down yard and the heavy Hunslet a goods train on the up side. As the latter locomotive is not fitted with a vacuum exhauster, it cannot
operate with passenger stock, but plans are in hand for the fitting of this equipment.
