From the Carriage Shop - Dennis Vass
Activity continues to be directed towards the Ten Million Pennies Appeal and by mid-June the sum raised from grants, donations, raffles, etc., stood at just over £26,900 (2,690,000 pennies). This includes £816 from the pond sited outside the Carriage Shop. Please continue with your support. The up-to-date "score" will be displayed beside the pond. Special mention must be made of the efforts of Phil Tarry who, in between his on-site Parks and Gardens activities, grew enough miniature marigold plants at home to fill 250 bedding plant strips which have been sold in aid of the Appeal. Thanks also to his wife Jane who, after painting sets and fences at Quainton at weekends, provided a "sales outlet" at their garden gate to ensure that no sales opportunities were lost when the gates were closed at Quainton. |
