Jottings from the Signal Engineering Dugout

Most people will have noticed the signal that operated on platform 3, it was not a figment of the imagination. Its purpose is to show that the "dugout" does exist ...

Signal engineering is all about providing appropriate signalling for a layout, to ensure the safe running of trains. This means, at Quainton, being able to run more than one train at a time on the demonstration line(s).

Work being undertaken at the moment:

  1. Total renewal of the Up-yard Ground frame.
  2. Provision of electric light i/l/o oil lamps in the bracket signal.
  3. Design of locking for the frame in the signal box for the control of the "new" Down-yard layout.
  4. Misc. signal box bits and pieces.

SO BEWARE- Holes will appear and disappear. If so, its probably the moles from the "dugout" at work.
