Andrew Bratton

Tony Lyster organised a velocipede event which was held at the Centre on 5th August. Competition was fierce as the competitors demonstrated their prowess on the down yard tracks.

Single and multiple models were demonstrated as the following shots taken by Andrew Bratton show.

I am not sure if it was competitive, but they had a good time and maybe shed a few ounces, showing off these long since discontinued exhibits in our collection.

It is far more interesting to see things that can still be used doing what they were designed to do rather than being seen as purely static exhibits.

The solo velocipede was crewed by Tony and Bob Swift and the duo by Tony and John Minall.
