This photo from John Hutchings's collection shows the deserted siding that became the Down Yard. The Buffer Depot that is now our Museum is on the left and the embankment for the road down to the A41 on the right. The spur off to the right has long since been lifted and would presumably have gone under the left arch of the road bridge to join the GC line. [Note 1]
