Shed Noticeboard - Sentinel Trust Report
Work on the major overhaul of this engine continues with the fitting of the cab doors and further painting. No. 9537 has been drained down for the winter, following her successful appearance on Enthusiasts Day, but otherwise remains serviceable. No. 6515 has been drained and put into store for the winter, but, as with Susan, is otherwise serviceable. Most of the Trust's activities have been centred on the railcar in recent months. The power car has had the old flooring removed and a replacement is currently being fitted. The driving trailer control desk has been stripped down and is being renovated - and a start has also been made on preparing the floor for renewal. The guards brake compartment is receiving new panelling and paintwork. Two replacement drawhooks and couplings have been acquired and these will be fitted when the headstocks are renewed, the material for which is also in stock. Lastly, two Westinghouse air brake valves have been located, these coming from scrap ex-SR 4SUB emus. |
