The only work required has been minor adjustments to the draw gear. Work has started on the fitting of buttoned upholstery to the doors. It is also hoped to return the running boards to the original pattern this year. The diner as had the frames and bogies repainted. The BS is in service. The guards brake compartment has been painted and a broken window has been replaced. It is proposed to use the Mk I SK for the Santa Steamings, but a fair amount of work is needed to make it serviceable. Jobs to do include the replacement of some of the doors, replating of most of the window surrounds, overhaul of the brake system and a thorough examination of the steam heating system. Not much work has been done on the second Gresley apart from the removal of a few more side panels. This MR box van has now had all the replacement wood fitted and painting has begun. |
