Similarly to the other two fireless locomotives at Quainton, GF3 and No. 2243, this locomotive came to Quainton from  Laporte, Luton, in March 1970.  However, its ownership was not transferred to Quainton Railway Society and in May 1970 it was moved on to Ayris & Jeacock, Bicester, for scrapping.  Before its time at Laporte it had been based at Van den Berghs & Jurgens Ltd, Purfleet, moving to Laporte's in 1968.
